Military Using Game Software To Train Soldiers How To Shoot Terrorists
from the interesting-uses dept
It seems that Ubi Soft has made a deal with the US Department of Defense to license the engine they use for the game Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear to be modified to train soldiers how to fight terrorists. That's right. If they're going to use Flight Simulator to figure out how to bomb us, we might as well use some Tom Clancy game to fight back. Whoever thought video games would be so important to a war effort? Of course, those video game companies who haven't seen the light and are selling just to consumers may be facing hard times.
