Can The Internet Save Us From Recession

Business Week has an article saying that we might be able to come through the economic downturn if the government looked for ways to use the internet to be a lot more efficient. The writer suggests that these "online efficiencies can power us into an economic upturn. I hope he's right. However, so many companies installed internet systems without paying attention to how they actually helped efficiencies, and I wouldn't be surprised if the government ended up doing the same thing. For them to really help, decisions have to be very carefully thought out - and "well thought out" and "government" aren't things that go together very well most of the time.
