Blaming Brokers
from the why-you-should-do-your-own-research dept
It amazes me how many people knew nothing about how the stock market worked, and yet continued to pour money into it at an amazing rate. Now, they're blaming their brokers for not explaining to them what buying on margin really meant. My favorite is the quote from someone who said they thought diversifying meant buying lots of tech stocks. While I do agree that brokers did nothing to help the situation, it is still up to the investors themselves to educate themselves - at least on the basics of what they were getting into.
