What's Next For Tivo?

Is Tivo destined to become another cool technology that came out before its time? Lots of people are predicting that, even though Tivo customers are fanatical about the service, it's unlikely to survive on its own. So, here come the rumors about a Tivo takeover. The only one that seems to really make any sense to most people is AOL (who already owns a large stake in Tivo).
