Vacation Pink Slips
from the even-worse-than-your-ordinary-pink-slip dept
What's worse than getting laid off? How about getting laid off while you're away on vacation? Apparently, "vacation pink slips" are becoming more common, as employees who took some time off during the summer are coming home to discover they no longer have a job. It seems like an exceptionally bad way to lay someone off. You would think it would be possible to wait until that person was back in the office to lay them off. Though, there was the story of one company that shut down, laid off everyone, and auctioned off the furniture... all while one of their employees was away. He came back to work to find a completely empty office.
