Where Are The Copy Protected CDs?
from the they're-out-there dept
The recent announcement from Macrovision that they've already been putting their audio copy protection scheme on CDs being sold in stores is causing people everywhere to try to figure out which CDs have the copy protection and how to break it. The problem is, nothing has been confirmed, and even CDs that some people swear have the copy protection, others have no problem copying. Plus, some people who claim they've broken the copy protection scheme are saying they've done so even though they don't have any of the CDs with the copy protection scheme. No matter what, though, it's pissing off an awful lot of consumers. I've said many times that it's an odd business decision to try to piss off the majority of your customers.
