Pay For Your Parking Meter With Your Mobile Phone
from the oooh,-that-will-change-everything dept
With all the talk of the wireless revolution, it's interesting that the services that make news are about buying coke cans with your mobile phones, and now, paying your parking meter with your mobile phone. Apparently 404 (yes, an odd number if you want to look for geeky in-joke humor that most people won't get) parking meters in Australia will now let you pay by SMS text message. This is nice, of course, as I hate carrying around change to deal with parking meters (partly because whatever design morons designed my car didn't put a change holder in it - so my cupholders are filled with quarters). However, I don't really see this as a major "m-commerce" breakthrough.
