Relief May Be Coming To AMT Victims
from the it's-about-time dept
Some legislation has been introduced to help out those who were being wiped out by the oddities of the alternative minimum tax on their stock options. There were definitely a number of folks who got absolutely destroyed by the AMT through no fault of their own. As the article says, most of these people were rank and file employees who got hit by the oddities of a weird tax law that wasn't meant to impact them in the first place. Hopefully the legislation will pass. Unfortunately, people who don't take the time to understand it, will simply assume this is a tax dodge for some of those dot com kids who are upset that they've lost some money.
