An article in the San Jose Mercury News talking to the "cell phone dictator" at Verizon. His job is to test all the different manufacturer's mobile phones before Verizon will sell them to work on their network. Having dealt with some incredibly bad cell phones, it's good to know that at least one company carefully tests cell phones on a lot of different factors before offering it on their network. Of course, I have to admit that the idea of being able to beat up on mobile phones for a living is somewhat appealing.
