Wireless Internet Connections: Convenience Vs. Annoyance
from the rude-people- dept
Well, if you've had enough of people complaining about cell phones ringing in public places, here's the next technology-related annoyance you can bitch and moan about. With the increasing use of 802.11b wireless internet access at companies and during conferences - people bring their laptops to presentations and meetings, and tap tap tap away with email and IM instead of listening to what's going on. Of course, a many of these people don't even think to turn the sound off on their laptops. Apparently, people have started judging how boring/interesting a conference presentation is by the noise level of laptops in the crowd. The more boring, the more noise as people are paying attention to other stuff.
