Lawsuit Charges .Biz Folks With Running An Illegal Lottery
from the oops dept
The company that is managing the .biz domain requires every applicant for a domain to pay $2. If multiple people request the same domain (and many have) they will chose the winner at random. This sounds very similar to a lottery. Turns out such a lottery is illegal, according to a lawsuit that has been filed. It's amazing how badly this process of assigning new top level domains has been run.
