Teens Are More Efficient Web Surfers

from the it's-teen-day-here-at-techdirt dept

Apparently, today's the day we post stories about teenagers. A new study has come out showing that a much higher percentage of teenagers use the web than adults. However, the "surprising" finding is that adults spend a lot more time online than kids do. The article says this suggests that teens find what they want and get off line, while adults wander aimlessly. While this might be true, I think it might have to do with... well, school. It doesn't say if the study only focused on home use, so this is a guess, but I would say that adults access the internet from work as well - while kids mostly only access it from home, when they have less extra time to surf. That's my explanation, anyway.

Personally, I browse 2-5 websites at once, usually with several pages on each site. Not only is it faster because I'm multitasking, I save time by almost never waiting for a page to download. I'd be amazed if my parents used more than one window at a time, ever!
