What Is Barry Diller Doing?
from the it's-all-about-convergence dept
An interesting look at Barry Diller and his plans for USA Networks. For years people have been confused about what he was really trying to do - and remember him more for the failed mergers and acquisitions of the past seven or eight years. Now, however, things are starting to become a bit clearer - and it suggests he might have had a plan all along. Of course, the article really isn't all that clear about these newly "clear" plans, but they say it has to do with convergence. As far as I can tell, however, it has to do with trying to turn everything into the home shopping channel - by making anything you see on TV immediately purchasable from the comfort of your own home.
