Webvan Gives Up The Ghost

Well, I'm sure most people have just been waiting for this one to happen, but the rumors are that Webvan will cease operations and declare bankruptcy on Monday. Think of all the billions of dollars wasted. Since I'm in an "I told you so" sort of mood (when am I not?), I'll point out that I was skeptical from the beginning in a post from April, 1999.

    14.5B in market cap, 1B in debt, less any recovery due creditors =~ $15B of losses
