Hotmail's Itchy Anti-Spam Trigger Finger - Part II

from the kick-anyone-off--hotmail dept

A followup to our original story about getting someone kicked off Hotmail as a spammer even if they didn't really spam you. It turns out that it wasn't just a one-off mistake, as the events have now been repeated. All you have to do is bounce any message from any hotmail user to abuse@hotmail.com and mention spam in the message - even if you're just accusing the general hotmail population, and not that particular user. Of course, the article also has an amusing rant from someone who apparently once worked the abuse desk at a free web page hosting company who points out (in much better language than I could possibly hope to replicate here) that you get what you pay for.
