Apple vs. Avid
from the taking-aim-at-the-big-guys dept
A good article about how Apple's Final Cut Pro video editing software may actually bring down Avid. Avid, of course, has been the standard in non-linear video editing for quite some time. It's also insanely expensive. So, while Final Cut Pro hasn't completely caught up to Avid, it certainly is "good enough" for many young filmmakers. It's also quickly becoming "good enough" for many people who are annoyed with Avid. That certainly doesn't bode well for Avid.
