Arthritis Drugs

from the drugs-do-what-there-designed-to-do dept

Doctors and the media are now worried about the potential risks of two new arthritis drug treatments (I'm sure you've seen the TV ads), which some believe may increase the risk of heart attacks. After going through some of the data, I believe that it's all a little bit of over hype. These drugs are specifically designed not to affect blood clotting (as its used in the body to heal wounds). While some other pain relievers do reduce clotting (not good for wound healing but good in reducing the risk of heart attacks) the new arthritis drugs don't seem to be actively increasing the risk.
