The Spy Who Lost Me
from the bad-spies dept
Following on yesterday's news of yet another lost British top secret laptop, the UK government is now announcing plans for better technology to prevent Defense Ministry agents from losing laptops. These include special briefcases that are tougher to open, homing devices, and the ability to destroy the hard drive of a lost laptop remotely. Of course, these technologies have been around for a while. It took 205 (yes, 205) lost UK secret laptops to convince them to move to this new level of security. I'd suggest a new hiring procedure at the Defense Ministry. Part of the application process should be to see whether or not the agents can actually make it through a day without losing their own briefcase.
