Movies And Their Websites
from the porn-and-computers dept
Ever since the Blair Witch stuff, movie studios have been trying to harness the internet to their advantage. Here are stories about two more attempts. First is a story about the website for The Center of the World, a movie about a dot commer obsessed by a stripper. The website is basically a porn site, where you can "interact" with the stripper. I could see how that might drive traffic and gain some interest. The second story is about the website for AI the Kubrick-to-Spielberg movie due out this summer about artificial intelligence. They've created an intriguing set of about 50 websites to make events in the movie seem based on reality. They've created fake web pages for people, Universities, and organizations.
