Google Names Eric Schmidt Chairman
from the grey-hairs dept
In a somewhat surprising move Google has named Novell's Eric Schmidt as their new Chairman. Schmidt is still Chairman of Novell, though he is transitioning out of the CEO spot there. Apparently he's going to continue being chairman of both companies. My guess is that Google's backers have been pushing for a bit more grey hair in management, though Schmidt still seems like an odd choice. He made big news when he left Sun to go to Novell, but it's not clear that he was such a big success at Novell.
