AT&T's Gain Is MSN's Loss
from the careful-who-you-partner-with dept
AT&T bought up what's left of Northpoint yesterday for bargain prices. However, this might cause problems for some other companies. For instance, Northpoint supplies DSL access for MSN and Microsoft doesn't want to be buying its broadband access from competitor AT&T. Thus, if you've got MSN broadband, you're probably losing your access for some period of time. You would think that (1) Microsoft would have a backup plan realizing this was a possibility and (2) that they never would have let AT&T win the bidding.
