Voter.com Data For Sale
from the privacy-schmivacy dept
Your voting record may be private, but your Voter.com record is apparently for sale to the highest bidder. The failed political website is looking to sell its user list - which includes contact info, sometimes including geographic location, political party affiliation, and political issues of interest. Some people feel that it's something of a violation of their privacy to sell such info. For Voter.com, however, it's a way to pay off their hungry creditors. It's interesting that they're also looking to sell the list to multiple buyers - so if you're a former Voter.com user, expect spam from all over the political spectrum.
