A Tale Of Two Wireless Companies
from the one-goes-up,-the-other-goes-down dept
Everything depends on execution. Just look at how well wireless providers Metricom and Omnisky are doing. Metricom, who makes the Ricochet modem (via which I'm connected to the internet right now) is apparently claiming they may have to shut down by summertime if they can't raise significantly more money. This would be somewhat upsetting to me, since I use them as my main internet connection. Meanwhile, Omnisky, who provides wireless service for handhelds claims they may break even a year ahead of schedule.
