Microsoft's Troubles May Kill .Net Ad Campaign

from the ouch dept

Because of all the troubles they've had this week, Microsoft is apparently realizing that their ad campaign to promote .Net is looking pretty silly. Since the whole point of the ads were to point out the reliability of Microsoft, it's probably going to make sense to pull the ad campaign for now.

...but Microsoft's .NET strategy is far from formalized and I think it's safe to say, given the failure that MSN *is*, that microsoft will be counting on key partners, who can provide both regional points of presence and custom application coding within the .NET framework, to deploy .NET and make it a successful ASP. Eventually, the successful partners will be absorbed and given a seat at whatever DSL, Cable and Mobil delivery platforms Microsoft has direct control over.

Honestly, how did you *think* assimilation was going to occure?
