The Super Bowl Takes A Page From The Matrix

from the 3D-views dept

Remember back in the 80s when the Super Bowl had some special 3D promotion with Coca-Cola. You had to get those cheap special 3D glasses and you could see a Coke commercial in 3D. CBS is unveiling some 3D technology that should be a lot cooler. They've put cameras everywhere in the stadium so that they'll be able to show Matrix-style 3D replays. The article explains how the technology was thought up, developed, and tested. Also they explain how it was kept entirely secret during all this development. Soon this technology should be showing up in lots of sporting events. It definitely sounds very cool. I can't wait to see how well it works.

what happened to your overhype detector, mike? in the last two out of three articles you've failed to point out the technology failings in two very hyped technologies. what other incentive is there to read techdirt?

What's your problem today? Hey, some things, if they worked, would be very cool. This is one of them. You have a problem with that?

chill, u2604ab. What do you want? If techdirt nay-sez everything, then there would also be no need to read it, right? I think it's remarkable that Mike has actually approved of something....
