Zap.com Finally Dead?
from the please,-please-be-dead dept
Three years ago we all laughed at Zap.com's attempt to transform themselves from a fish oil company to an internet portal by buying Excite (who turned down the generous offer while barely stifling laughter). Then we thought Zap.com would go away when it admitted that (despite their ads offering to "buy your website!") they were backing out of deals to buy 31 websites they had made deals with. Then, two years ago, Zap was back and we still thought they were on the verge of death. Now it seems that they're finally dead for real. I hope they stay dead this time. This is one dot com failure that is long overdue.
