eToys Up For Sale

The big news of the weekend seems to be the fact that eToys only did half as well as they expected last quarter. They are also running out of money and putting themselves up for sale. For all the talk of how this was the make-or-break season for e-commerce, it seems like a lot of companies have given up without even waiting to see how well things go. That cannot be a good sign.
