Shopping Bots Knocking Out E-Commerce Sites

Apparently one reason for all the e-commerce site outages this year are shopping bots. Especially with stores that have a PS2, people are signing up for services that will keep checking to see if an item is in stock, and alert the consumer immediately. The repeated checking of the site by the bot, is causing some servers to get bogged down.
