Studying The Language Of Love - Via Email

from the who-thought-AOL-chat-rooms-could-be-so-useful dept

Some German researchers are studying the "language of love" by looking at emails. Apparently, they feel they can get a better idea of what people say to each other as they consider emails to be almost equivalent to speech. Not surprisingly, attempts to record "love murmerings" directly didn't work too well, so the researchers believe that email will help give them a better idea of what people say to each other. I'm not sure that people really do say the exact same things on email as they would in person... However, at the end of the article is an amusing way to break up with someone (if you're looking for such things).
