Universal Gets A Taste Of Its Own Medicine
from the lawsuit-time dept
Oops. Universal, who has been extra vigilant in suing anyone having anything to do with online music, is now being sued themselves for putting music online that certain artists feel they don't have the online distribution rights to. Essentially, they're being accused of the same thing Universal accused MP3.com of. That can't look good. Of course, I'm sure Universal will claim they have all distribution rights to any piece of music they own, and they probably have a stronger case, but it does show that things aren't as clear cut as the music industry would have you believe.
