Qualcomm To Take Equity In Startups
from the odd-timing dept
Qualcomm is now saying that they'll take equity stakes in start ups as part of licensing agreements. While this sort of thing was extremely common a year ago, it seems that now everyone is demanding cash. Companies that were taking payments on an equity basis have been punished, since many of their equity stakes are turning up worthless, and they were basically giving away things for free. Of course, in the long run, it could be a very smart move, but I'm wondering if investors will punish Qualcomm for this.
