Watching Movies On Your Cell Phone

from the just-what-we-need dept

While others have talked about it, Samsung has apparently produced the first mobile phone that will play streaming video. To be totally honest, I have no idea what this would be useful for. They suggest it will be useful for videoconferencing, but considering the fact that most people don't care about videoconferencing normally, I don't see what benefit mobile videoconferencing has. My first thought was that this would be a cool (if inconvenient) way to watch movies on the go. However, the only time I'd probably really want to do that would be on an airplane, and then I wouldn't be allowed to turn on my mobile phone anyway.

I take the train to work and it taes me about an hour forty minutes to get to work. I have a cell phone and an ipod but i like to travel light. if the video ipod only had a phone built in to it, that would be nice.
