Virgin Wants Free Net Appliances Back
from the oops dept
A few months back, Virgin launched an internet appliance service. For simply providing some demographic information you got a free internet appliance that could be used for email and web surfing. Now, they've decided they want those machines back as they're shutting down that part of the business. They're still hanging on to the names and contact info, but will erase all other data. Seems like a silly experiment all around. At least they didn't suddenly tell people they owed money for the machines like some other companies have done.
