TheMan.com Shuts Down

from the offline-or-online-this-was-a-stupid-business-idea dept

TheMan.com has shut down operations and has posted the resumes of most of the employees who worked there. This site was touted as the next generation in ecommerce plays a year ago when it launched. It was focused on a specific demographic and would sell high end items to that demographic (that being busy, high income men). Well, they lasted a year, which is about 11 months longer than I had given them.

I actually thought that TheMan.com was a cool idea, I thought they would eventually figure out a way to make mens lives easier (i.e. anniversary reminders, birtdays and etc.) but it ended up being just a crappy site with very little interesting information and crappy presents. Maybe I'll start TheCheapMen.com, a cheap site where all men can increase the attention that women feel they pay them but at the same time save the money!
