Hummer's Napster Bummer
from the that-would-suck dept
A very interesting article in the Economist discussing what might happen to venture capitalist Hummer Winblad if things go badly for Napster. Hummer was the major investor in Napster, and even put a partner from the firm into Napster as CEO. If the RIAA can go after Hummer for damages it could hurt the whole venture capital industry. The article also points out the irony in this matter, since Hummer has been notoriously risk averse over the last few years and kept away from a ton of internet deals it thought were way too risky - even in the crazy market.
