Esquire's April Fools Domain Sold

from the crazy-world dept

A few months back we wrote about the Esquire April Fools joke about a startup company that would pay for your car if you let them wrap it in advertising. I thought it was particularly amusing that a number of real competitors called up Esquire and were concerned about the fictitious company. Now, the latest news is that one of those "competitors" bought the domain of the fake company for $25,000. That's a bit more than the $70 the author of the article paid for the original domain.
