Michigan Goes After Sites that Violate Privacy

The State of Michigan has sent warnings to several websites for privacy violations. The more interesting part is that there is no law (yet) about privacy violations on the internet. Instead, they're doing this under an old consumer protection law. This makes a lot of sense. While I agree that in some cases laws might need to be changed due to the internet, if an old law fits, then it probably should be applied. And, after all, this really is a question of consumer protection.
