E-Commerce Doing Better
from the well,-look-at-that... dept
For all the talk about dot coms collapsing in the e-commerce space, a study comes out today showing that e-commerce business keeps growing. In fact, in the first quarter of 2000 e-commerce sales were higher than the fourth quarter of 1999. While it's always good to see quarter-to-quarter growth, it's a bit surprising since Q4 is when the holidays are, and when most e-commerce sites expect their biggest quarters to be. Most people expected a small drop in sales for Q1 2000. Of course, this isn't going to save all those dot coms that have no money and are making negative margins, but it's a good sign for e-commerce in general.
