Corel Ends Inprise Merger
from the and-now-what dept
The Corel/Inprise merger always seemed a little odd. It was two struggling software makers who had been continuously trying to change and compete with Microsoft and had failed many times over. The question was whether or not combining these two just made one big incompetent software company, or a stronger base from which to compete. Now, however, the merger is off. Of course, recently Corel said that it couldn't survive if the merger went away, but that's not what they're saying any more.
