eToys Mixed Messages
from the we're-spending-big-on-advertising,-but-controlling-our-spending dept
Okay, this one is confusing. Last week, we posted how eToys was going to spend big on advertising and not let little things like e-commerce sites running out of cash bother it at all. Then yesterday they announced a big co-marketing agreement with the Gap that seemed to follow on that plan. Today, however, they announce that they will be "controlling" their marketing expenditures to work towards profitability. Perhaps someone forgot to tell their marketing department.
