MP3.com Guilty of Copyright Violation

from the another-stupid-decision dept

MP3.com has been found guilty of copyright violations for their MyMP3 service in which they encoded 80,000 albums for people to access - only if they could prove they already had the album. To me, this is more stupidity from the recording industry. MP3.com wasn't out there passing out pirated tracks or anything. They were providing a good service. The Recording Industry proves again that they are short-sighted and in complete denial of the world we live in.
