CNET is running an in-depth look at the AOL-ization of the Net and what the means. I actually don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean, just because there's a McDonalds and Starbucks on every other corner doesn't mean that everyone has to eat there. People can complain, but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me. Of course, at the same time we find out that now AOL is blocking email from some Pacbell email addresses. Perhaps that's their new strategy...
