Pets.com Has a Very Disappointing IPO
from the you-call-that-a-dot-com-IPO??? dept
Following on WebMethods super IPO of the morning, Pets.com was a major disappointment and not just by dot com standards. Does this signal the end of crazy e-commerce IPOs? I doubt it. But, perhaps there's an element of reason that's finally showing up in dot com investing. Or, it's just that everyone put all their money into WebMethods, and had nothing left over for a site building its brand based on a sock puppet.
