Imminent Death of Usenet Again
from the wait,-this-sounds-familiar dept
An odd story in the Washington Post explaining what Usenet is and why it might be going away (again). I always find stories about Usenet interesting as it was what I primarily used on the internet way back when. Of course, the article doesn't mention that years ago, while there was still the flames and occasional cross posting issues, there wasn't the problem of spam. The combination of spam and the sudden influx of idiots from aol.com made many of us ditch Usenet in the first place. What I used to use Usenet for I now accomplish much more happily through email lists.
