NY State Attorney General Goes After Spammer Monsterhut

from the sue-the-spammers dept

NY State Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer, fresh off of his attempt to show how investment banks lied to the public, has now decided to go after famed spammer Monsterhut, saying they lied about being an "opt-in" email provider. It's good to see more lawsuits against spammers, but I'm getting the feeling that Spitzer is gearing up for a run at a bigger political office, as he's suddenly taking on very high profile lawsuits that will get him a lot of attention nationwide.

I don't care if he's looking gearing up for a political office. He's doing the right thing. If he also benefits from it then good. I wish more people in positions of power would stand for the people instead of for the corporate interest.

Gee, imagine that. An elected official using his post to serve his political ambitions. What's the world coming to?
